UB on the Green has announced its sixth annual concert series lineup. The program, which runs on three weeknights in July, offers family-friendly fun on UB’s South campus. Stop by Hayes Hall front lawn with a picnic basket to enjoy some great music this July 11, 18, and 25th:
July 11: The David Leonhardt Jazz Trio with The Shelley Oliver Tap Dancers: An internationally acclaimed ensemble featuring pianist David Leonhardt and Canadian tap dancer Shelley Oliver -these two groups play mainstream and modern acoustic jazz, with creative improvisation, playing both jazz standards and originals for an exciting and entertaining evening of music. The dancers are noted for their lightning speed footwork and rapid fire taps, sophisticated musical arrangements, strong visual choreography, inventive improvisation, synchronized ensemble dancing and stunning solo work.
July 18: Healing Hands Drum Journey: Healing Hands features musicians from America and Africa to provide a traditional and contemporary Â“journeyÂ” in sound. This journey in sound includes traditional drum music from Mali and Senegal, modern Congolese music (NÂ’dombolo), and even Reggae from Jamaica. In addition the group traditional singers and dancers who tour the world spreading the proud cultural arts that we have inherited.
July 25: Gruvology: This well-renowned local five piece group plays original jazz.
Concerts begin at 6:00pm.
