From WGRZ:

Kali, the orphaned polar bear cub from Alaska, arrived early this morning in Buffalo.

Kali was orphaned when his mother was killed by a subsistence hunter in Alaska.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Regional Director Geoff Haskett says the Buffalo Zoo was picked as Kali’s temporary home in part because it already has Luna, the zoo’s six-month old polar bear cub who can socialize with Kali.

Kali arrived at the Buffalo International Airport this morning on a UPS flight. The cub left Anchorage Tuesday night, stopped briefly in Louisville, KY and then finally arrived in Buffalo around 5:20 Wednesday morning.
