America’s Houses Are Aging

According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, America’s houses are growing older. ?Homes built from 2000 to 2009 represent 15 percent of the housing stock while some 41 percent of the stock was built before 1969. ?The average age of an American home is 35 years old, which means that these homes are less energy efficient than new homes.

As America’s homes age, there is an opportunity for buyers, contractors, and developers to remodel or rebuild aging homes so that they keep up with the modern upgrades today’s new construction has.
